</div><p>I recently read an article with the title “Have Acne? Best Medication Is Clean Hygiene.” This made me wonder how many other people think acne is a <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/hygiene-problem/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Hygiene Problem">hygiene problem</a>. Probably a great many, I concluded. Why else do people sometimes scrub their faces raw to try and get rid of it?</p>
<p>The truth is, acne is not related to hygiene. Although it is important to wash your face once or twice a day if you have acne, it has nothing to do with dirt.</p>
<p>The problem has more to do with the accumulation of sebum, the substance secreted from sebaceous glands of the <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/skin/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with skin">skin</a>. The plain English definition would be oils secreted by the <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/skin/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with skin">skin</a>. And yes, this material does need to be controlled, preferably with regular, gentle cleansing of the <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/skin/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with skin">skin</a>. It has nothing to do with a lack of <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/cleanliness/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Cleanliness">cleanliness</a>.</p>
<p><span id="more-1761"></span></p>
<p>The sebum is the guilty party in that it clogs the pores, usually on the face. This blocks the skin from being able to shed the dead or dying <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/cellular-material/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Cellular Material">cellular material</a> that is released through the pores and <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/hair-follicles/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Hair Follicles">hair follicles</a>. The resulting problem is a back up of <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/dead-material/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Dead Material">dead material</a>, which becomes infected at times, and an accumulation of <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/bacteria/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Bacteria">bacteria</a>.</p>
<p>So, if you have ever had someone suggest to you that you have the problem of acne, ignore it. You have this situation with <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/excessive-oil/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Excessive Oil">excessive oil</a> production which may have to do with a bit of an imbalance of the male or <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/female-hormones/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Female Hormones">female hormones</a>.</p>
<p>Generally, if you will do the daily gentle cleansing and use an inexpensive over the counter type medication, you can most likely control your acne.</p>
<p>If for some reason this routine does not work, there are, of course, prescription alternatives. But, the point of this article really was to impress upon anyone reading it that acne is not a hygiene issue. It is a natural phenomenon that can be treated.</p>

<p><a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/acne/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Acne">Acne</a> affects nearly everyone at some point in their lives. While some people get it a lot worse than others &#8211; for example some get large outbreaks with cysts and papules while others rarely get a single spot &#8211; most will experience <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/acne/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Acne">acne</a>. Of course you can also get it as an adult but it is much more common during teenage years.</p>
<p>the amount of <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/myths/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Myths">myths</a> that surround acne is huge. These come from well-meaning but uninformed people who manage to spread these <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/myths/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Myths">myths</a> so they become part of our culture. A good example is the myth that chocolate <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/causes/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with causes">causes</a> acne. This is shown to not be the case, and in fact it may in fact help your acne to eat chocolate because it reduces stress.</p>
<p><span id="more-1743"></span></p>
<p> You should always talk to you doctor before believing anything you hear about acne through other people, as the chances are they arent correct. Dont worry about eating chocolate, but other foods have been shown in some cases to make acne worse, so eating a healthy diet is definitely a good idea anyway.</p>
<p>Acne is caused when <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/sebum/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Sebum">sebum</a> becomes trapped beneath <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/hair-follicles/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Hair Follicles">hair follicles</a> that have become blocked. This leads to a build up of <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/bacteria/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Bacteria">bacteria</a> causing both <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/blackheads/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Blackheads">blackheads</a> and whiteheads. However these two different types of spots are caused by slightly different things.</p>
<p>Blackheads are caused when the sebum comes out of the <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/skin/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with skin">skin</a> and is then oxidised causing the change in colour. On the other hand whiteheads are beneath the surface and hence stay white giving them their characteristic looks.</p>
<p>Apart from whiteheads and blackheads, the reason acne can cause so many problems on the face is because of the irritation of the skin. For example in not so severe cases you may get a papule, but in severe cases you can get a cyst which is an area of inflammation filled with pus.</p>
<p>A doctor will always be able to give you the best possible advice, so never hesitate to visit one if you are worried about your acne and want to get it fixed as soon as possible.</p>

</div><p>Although acne is not fatal, this usually troublesome skin condition can lead to extremely unattractive scars on the skin. There are many <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.consumersratingproducts.com/380/pac-perfect/">causes of acne</a> and there are also different types, the most common of which is the so called acne vulgaris. While this skin condition is common among adolescents during puberty, many adults also suffer from it. Since acne can unfortunately bring with it embarrassment and humiliation, especially to teenagers, <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.consumersratingproducts.com/340/acne-free-in-3-days/">healing acne</a>, as well as knowing the many <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/causes-of-acne/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Causes Of Acne">causes of acne</a>, is something that should be taken into serious consideration.</p>
<p>Causes of Acne</p>
<p><span id="more-1676"></span></p>
<p>Acne formation usually occurs when the pores are clogged with <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/excess-oil/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Excess Oil">excess oil</a> or <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/sebum/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Sebum">sebum</a> along with dirt, causing bacterial reactions that lead to inflammation. Among the various causes of acne, <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/heredity/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Heredity">heredity</a> is perhaps a major factor, as some individuals have <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/genetic-structures/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Genetic Structures">genetic structures</a> that are prone to this skin condition. These individuals often have extra productive sebaceous glands causing increased levels of oil piling up inside skin pores, usually beneath <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/hair-follicles/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Hair Follicles">hair follicles</a>. Increased skin shedding may also be characteristic of a few people, making them more prone to the build up of dead skin cells that will clog the pores if left uncleaned.</p>
<p>One major factor among the different causes of acne is <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/skin-sensitivity/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Skin Sensitivity">skin sensitivity</a>. Some types of skin, for example, are allergic to certain products, such as shampoos or lotions, that otherwise wouldn’t have any adverse effects on other <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/skin-types/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Skin Types">skin types</a>. Acne may also be formed due to hormonal changes during puberty and menstruation.</p>
<p>Diet is a major factor that one must consider when talking about the many causes of acne. <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/excessive-production/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Excessive Production">Excessive production</a> of sebum on our skin can result from eating foods that have high sugar and oil content. Stress, which often results to lack of sleep, is another contributing factor to the formation of acne.</p>
<p>Healing Acne</p>
<p>In cases where acne formation is caused by food intake, staying away from <a href="http://acnereview.biz/acne/tag/fatty-food/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Fatty Food">fatty food</a> is definitely a good way of healing acne. The ideal way of healing acne due to hormonal changes is through medication using pills. Topical applications of certain anti-acne substances can also help greatly not only in healing acne but also in controlling and preventing acne onslaughts.</p>
<p>Also, key to <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.consumersratingproducts.com/">healing acne</a> is cleaning the skin, especially facial skin, by washing it with a gentle soap and water or with a water-based cleanser on a regular basis. Because cleaning the skin this way eliminates oil and dirt, clogging of pores due to the buildup of dirt is avoided.</p>
<p>Getting a good idea on the different causes of acne is key to looking for sure-fire methods of healing acne.</p>
