First, consider how often you’ll need a tuxedo. If it’s going to be very infrequently, an inexpensive tuxedo may be acceptable. If a very occasional formal event is the only need, you probably don’t want to invest hundreds of dollars or more in a quality tuxedo.

It’s always possible to seek advice when considering the purchase of anything. Newspapers, television, the internet… there’s a limitless supply of it. The problem is that when you are thinking of buying a new tuxedo, much of the advice can appear to contradict. You will hear one fashion expert telling everyone about the latest styles we should be wearing, then you have an “image consultant” (what a great job) telling us the exact opposite.
What most of these “experts” fail to take into consideration is this. We are all different and what looks great on one person, may be awful on another with the same physical features. The difference is our personalities.
