Ways to Clear Your Face of Acne
Are you over the age of 25 but you feel as if you’re still in your adolescent years because of your acnes? If you are still suffering from pimples, blackheads, zits, and more, then puberty has nothing to do with it. Clearing out acnes isn’t easy. Before you want to extinguish them, you might want to keep them first from existing.
Get a healthy lifestyle. And by healthy I mean eat, drink, breathe, and live healthy. You have to clear out all the toxicities to clear your acne. Better watch your eating habits as well. As much as possible, eat less oily foods and avoid drinking too much alcoholic and caffeinated beverages. Drinking water, lots of it, works wonders also. It gets rid of oil, waste, and toxins from your body. It will also moisturize your skin, preventing your pores from clogging. There is also the matter of working out regularly, avoiding stress, quitting smoking, and practicing good hygiene.
Those preventive steps may help keep the acnes from gracing your face and body, but what if you already have them?
You can try topical creams and gels, but they only eradicate the problem temporarily. Not that they’re inefficient, as a matter of fact, most acne dries out fast with over-the-counter products. Medicines that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid may be used in mild to moderate types of acne. You can also hear other people swearing by natural remedies. Honey, oatmeal, ginger, and even ice are said to dry out acnes.
But if you have serious acne problem, then topical medicines aren’t solution enough.
Acute acne cases should be treated internally. As topical creams or gels can’t kill the root of the problem. Oral antibiotics may help those who suffer from acute acne problems. But oral drugs, such as those containing erythromycin or any of the tetracycline antibiotics, may have side effects. Consult a dermatologist before taking any oral medicines.
For some girls, acnes are a monthly thing. Each time their menstrual cycle is about to start, women’s hormonal level fluctuates, causing oil secretion of the glands. There are those who find taking oral contraceptives effective in extinguishing their acnes.
Clearing out acnes has no precise answer. What works for others may not work for some. But whatever measure you choose, taking a healthy lifestyle won’t hurt.
