KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 (Bernama) — The desire to bring out the best in people has prompted business administration graduate Yap Yann Fang to venture into the world of beauty care and body slimming.
With a canny eye for business and a passion for people, Yap founded ‘Bizzy Body’, in 2005 and resolved to make this beauty care and slimming centre different from the others.
Unlike most other slimming centres, Bizzy Body’s programmes are priced based on the results and not the number of sessions a client undergoes.
“Clients are encouraged to share their ideal body shape and Bizzy Body’s professional consultants will use this as a base to advise them on the overall programme including diet consultation,” Yap, 29, told Bernama in an interview recently.
Since its inception, Bizzy Body has grown to 17 outlets nationwide, with five more outlets opening in 2010.
‘BIZZY BODY’
Why such a name for a beauty care and slimming centre?
Yap said the company was named ‘Bizzy Body’ to signify a more friendly and approachable feel to clients.
“It made sense as we are always busy meeting their needs,” she said, citing that middle-income individuals, physical-conscious people and working ladies being their core target market.
To supplement this, maintenance programmes are complimentary and provided at all outlets. This award-winning concept was recognised by the Asia Pacific Super Excellence Brand.
“Our signature treatment is ‘e-Intense’ a state-of-the-art technology that helps to improve lymphatics of lipocytes (fat cells) to allow the toxins and excess fat to dislodge thus preparing the body for the slimming process,” Yap said.
By detoxifying the body, e-Intense mobilised the uneven fat cells and increase the metabolism rate. In 20 minutes, this technology is able to get rid of up to six pounds of body fat and burn off 600-1200 calories.
“While we can provide women with weight loss solutions, we are also seeking to educate women that our services are not exclusive to those who need help with weight loss”, Yap said.
The treatments are not exclusive to the overweight and obese. Bizzy Body’s highly customisable treatments also assist the modern women to maintain their confidence and physique.
“Bizzy Body has highly customisable approaches to the treatment. There are treatment packages that cater to helping people losing their weight and body size and there are also treatments to help people maintain the good physique that they have,” she said.
‘FACIAL FIRST’
Yap refused to rest on the success of Bizzi Body. Hence, she launched Bizzy Body’s sister brand, ‘Facial First’, early this year. Facial First is the answer to the specialised dermatogical needs and focuses on facial treatments.
The reason why Bizzy Body established Facial First brand was due to the need to streamline the expertise according to customer’s needs.
This provides Bizzy Body and Facial First the capacity to completely focus on the specific need of the customer, be it in physical and dermatological solutions.
“This also allows us to further establish the research and development for both brands and step up training with a customised equipment in order to better service the clients,” Yap said.
Facial First’s approach is customising according to the unique needs of the customer’s skin type. Its signature product, the ‘Nutri-essential’ is plant based and highly concentrated in antioxidants to revitalize skin.
Yap said from experience, they noticed that the skin problem faced by Asians was due to dehydration which would lead to pigmentation, acne and wrinkles.
“Nutri-essential is Facial First’s signature treatment. With botanical extracts that are high in antioxidants infused with botanical collagen, this treatment can improve the elasticity and glow of the skin. The Nutri Mask of the Nutri-essential range can improve skin hydration by up to three times,” she said.
Facial First’s products also contain stem cells from a rare Swiss apple that protects the skin’s own stem cells which are necessary for the renewal of the skin.
“We’re not only treat your problem but also strengthen and train our skin internal mechanism as well as hormone balancing. We’re the only centre that provides full body lymphatic drainage and specific diet plans for acne, anti-wrinkle and skin brightening,” she said.
Yap said that the company has a factory in Singapore with research and development facilities.
“We tried a lot of products and most are not 100 percent suitable for Asian skin so we decide to manufacture our own products tailor-made for Asian skin,” she said.
MOVING FORWARD
Bizzy Body is also expanding to Kuantan, Johor Baharu and Ipoh.
“According to our research, demands are high there. We also want to penetrate the Malay market. We see potentials in that segment. About 70 per cent of our existing customers are Chinese,” Yap said.
Meanwhile, Facial First is set to open five outlets in the Klang Valley — Puchong, Damansara, Kepong, Klang and USJ.
Starting next year, Bizzy Body and Facial First are set to set up three outlets in Singapore and five in China. Over the next five years, Bizzy Body and Facial First will be looking at expanding to Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia and West Asia.
Bizzy Body and Facial First are continuously looking at making their brands suitable for people from all walks of life.
“We are looking into creating over the counter brands, spa centres and even catering to slimming and facial needs specifically for man,” Yap said.

Good one ! thanks.Just one to take an oppurtunity to give a tip to those with cracked heel..make sure tht your heel is dry after you go 2 washroom or take a bath or else moisture will be stripped.put some baby lotion on your heels and wear a pair of socks at nite…it works on me!
