Acne Remedies and Advice

When you have , it seems like you can’t get to a remedy fast enough.  But with so many remedies available, how can you know which one is the best for your needs?

Many remedies, many results

The truth about is that no single remedy will work perfectly for every single person.  One of the reasons why there are so many on the market is that so many different people with acne respond in different ways. This means that unless luck is on your side, a process of trial and error is inevitable.

Below are some suggestions to help you navigate through the process of looking for a remedy to treat your acne:

1.Start by concentrating on clean skin.By focusing on clean skin you are making life difficult for one of the main contributory factors of acne, bacteria. You should use a mild face wash formulated for acne-prone skin to wash your face each morning and each evening.

2.Improve your routine by adding an anti-acne formula.Sometimes just keeping your face clean by regularly washing it will take care of your acne. If it doesn’t then move up to a face wash product containing a slightly stronger anti-acne formula.  Good choices include those containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.  Start with the milder formulations and move up to stronger formulations if necessary.

3.  Try a different anti-acne formula. There is no guarantee your skin will respond favourably to a particular , or that your existing remedy will continue to work well.Should this happen and it is not uncommon, switch to a different anti-acne formula; for example, try salicylic acid instead of benzoyl peroxide, and of course the reverse is also perfectly valid.

4.Your doctor will know of other available options.Sometimes your acne will react well to an over the counter acne remedy, sometimes it won’t. If it doesn’t consult your doctor or .  He or she has a wide array of choices for helping you get your acne under control, ranging from mild antibiotics to topical creams and gels.  For many people, spending just a few weeks or months using an antibiotic treatment is enough to get their acne under control and allow them to go back to using over the counter acne remedies.

There’s no substitute for time

The most important thing to remember about acne remedies is that they do take some time to work.Patience is a virtue with most of life’s problems and certainly so with acne. After a few weeks a gradual improvement should be visible.Hopefully your patience will be rewarded with an improvement in your condition. If not, or if the improvement is not as dramatic as you would like then move up to the next level of care for a few weeks and monitor the results.

Should you have any negative reaction to the acne remedies you try, stop using them and consult your doctor.Keep in mind that many different acne remedies exist and they work in many different ways. You could soon be enjoying clean, acne-free skin if you follow this simple recipe. Take some professional guidance from your doctor or dermatologist, mix in a little bit of time, add in the little effort required and reap the benefits your patience deserves.
